The Good

Believe it or not (and, in contrast to the consistently negative picture painted by career politicians, economists and commentators); thanks to a happy confluence of scientific understanding, material progress, advanced communication technology, educational capacity and globalisation, the opportunity to build the genuinely good society has never been greater.

The True

And yet, with an increasingly debt-laden, tired and inadequate political economic model, no party offers us any real hope of a new politics to take advantage of the most amazing opportunity this special age affords us. All we hear is cuts vs spending, and it is clear no party leader has a clue about how best to deal with the multiple crises of our dysfunctional western economic model. At the same time, the human race faces unprecedented challenges relating to the environment, and pressing moral questions over its capacity to build a society in which education, resources and power are equitably distributed, and in which people of all classes might thrive.

And the Beautiful

How to square the circle? First, when we realise there is a war to be won, and that it is OUR war, not the politicians’. Second, that it is time to come together for a new political sovereignty. Third, when we become clear about the kind of sovereignty, and therefore political economy we need, and then we an organise for it, to claim our power. The state will then be commanded (by us) to open up yet more space for solutions to happen, and we will all become free.

The purpose of this blog is to show solidarity, highlight and universalise some of the key ideas and democratic practices necessary to transform and liberate society in the course of the 21st Century : the Real Third Way, a spiritual way but also an emancipatory global politics that exists independently of, but also fully engaged in real worldly struggle.
